“Motherhood is a humbling experience. It is raw, emotional yet the greatest experience I have been through so far. Love has a new meaning to me.”
When do you feel most empowered as a mother?
“I feel proud and empowered when we make it through hard times together. When I can decode his needs and I feel our bond so strongly.”
What’s the best advice you want to pass on to mothers to-be?
“Take your time getting into becoming a mother. It's not an overnight transformation, which is the beauty of it, and can only be understood once you are in it. Also: grace, give yourself grace!”.

"Motherhood has taught me the power of presence and the importance of speaking up. One of my favorite things about children is how naturally present they are – and how that presence positively influences everyone around them."
When do you feel most empowered as a mother?
"I feel very proud when Merle is completely immersed and focused playing in her own little fantasy world. It is also very empowering to be able to comfort her when needed. There’s something special about that moment. I also love when she’s making conversation with others, especially strangers. Ah I just love her…"
What’s the best advice you want to pass on to mothers to-be?
"I am not usually one to give advice, I prefer to listen as it can be overwhelming with too many advises, especially for a new mother. But if I had to share something it would be to simply follow your gut feeling and don’t feel guilty about the need of some time alone. That’s ok too."

"That I am not the only most important person in my world."
When do you feel most empowered as a mother?
"When I am able to calm myself while calming my daughter. We both have a lot of temper. So when my nervous system remains one she can lean into, I feel empowered."
What’s the best advice you want to pass on to mothers to-be?
"Forgiveness. We all make lots of mistakes as parents - it’s a part of it. Forgive yourself and treat yourself with mildness. I am still practicing."

"Becoming a mother has taught me to pay attention to all the small details. You really realize how quickly life can pass you by when you have children. It’s made me more open to what’s happening around me. In many ways, you get to experience the world all over again, because you spend so much time with little people who are seeing everything for the first time."
When do you feel most empowered as a mother?
I feel strongest and proudest when I’m riding my Christiania bike with my two children. I spent a lot of time sitting in a cargo bike as a child myself, so there’s definitely a sense of full-circle energy in it."
What’s the best advice you want to pass on to mothers-to-be?
"Try not to be too theoretical as a mother. Sure, maybe it’s better to say "stay focused" instead of "be careful," but honestly — sometimes children really do need to be careful. I’m practicing not doubting myself, but instead tuning into what feels right.
I think many of us are very reflective about our parenting, which is a good thing — but it shouldn’t take over. We are all going to make mistakes, and our children can handle that.
I’m working on being authentic. My children sense me so clearly, so I might as well be who I am. Sometimes I slam my hand on the table in frustration, but afterwards, there are always hugs and kisses.
This is especially true with my three-year-old daughter — it’s such an intense age, full of boundary-testing. I focus on setting loving limits, but if I feel anger bubbling up, I believe it’s okay for her to see that side of me too. What matters most is that we always find our way back to each other."
